Contact us

Something not working, a guide that gets a detail wrong, or a tool you wish existed? Write to us. Messages are read by the people who build the tools, not by a ticketing system.

Email: info@filecrafthub.com

We aim to reply within two to three working days. If your message needs us to reproduce a problem, it may take a little longer — we would rather send you a fix than a holding reply.

What to write to us about

  • A tool that misbehaved. The most useful reports we get. See below for what to include.
  • A mistake in a guide. If something we wrote is wrong, out of date, or misleading, tell us and we will correct it.
  • A tool you need. Describe the task rather than the feature — knowing what you are actually trying to do usually leads to a better tool than a spec would.
  • Accessibility problems. If something is unusable with a screen reader, a keyboard, or at a larger text size, that is a bug and we want to know.
  • Privacy questions. Anything about what we collect, or a request relating to your information.
  • Advertising and business enquiries. Same address.

Reporting a problem with a tool

Because our tools run inside your browser rather than on our servers, we cannot look up what happened in a log. Everything we know about a fault has to come from you. Four details usually let us reproduce a problem straight away:

  1. 1
Which tool, and the page address

The full URL is ideal, since some tools have similar names.

  2. 2
What you did and what happened

The steps you took, what you expected, and what you got instead. “Nothing happened after I clicked download” is genuinely useful information.

  3. 3
    Your browser and device

Chrome on Android, Safari on an iPhone, Firefox on Windows — faults are often specific to one combination.

  4. 4
Roughly what the file was like

Its approximate size and page count, and whether it was scanned or created digitally. That is usually enough.

Please do not email us your documents. We do not need them and we would rather not have them. If a specific file causes a problem, describe it — or if you can, reproduce the fault with a harmless test file and tell us about that one instead. Never send identity documents, certificates or anything else confidential by email.

Things we cannot help with

To save you writing an email that will only get a disappointing reply: we cannot recover a file you lost. Because the tools never receive your documents, there is no copy on our side to restore — your original stays on your device and is never modified, which is the safeguard, but a download that was never saved is gone.

We also cannot advise on whether you qualify for a particular job, exam or scheme. Our age calculator will tell you your exact age on a given date, but eligibility depends on the rules in the official notification, and only the issuing authority can answer questions about those. And we cannot open a password-protected file for you.

Feature requests

Most of what is on this site started as someone describing a task that took longer than it should have. If you find yourself doing something awkward — three tools and a workaround to achieve one thing — that is exactly the message worth sending.

We cannot promise to build everything, and some requests need a server to work at all, which would break the one rule the whole site is built around. But every suggestion is read, and a fair number end up shipped.
