Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 August 2026
This policy explains what FileCraftHub does with information when you visit filecrafthub.com. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate, because a policy nobody can read protects nobody.
The short version. The files you open in our tools are never uploaded to us. They are processed inside your own browser and stay on your device. What we do receive is ordinary website information — the sort every web server records — plus anything you choose to email us. We show advertising, and advertising partners set their own cookies, which is explained in full below.
Who we are
FileCraftHub is a small independent website that publishes free, browser-based file utilities — tools for organising, merging, splitting, converting and compressing PDFs and images, along with a few everyday helpers. The site is operated from India. You can reach us at any time at info@filecrafthub.com.
This policy applies to filecrafthub.com and the tool pages hosted on it. It does not apply to other websites we link to, which have their own policies.
The files you use with our tools
This is the part most visitors care about, so we will be specific about it.
Our tools are built to run entirely inside your web browser. When you add a PDF or an image, your browser reads that file from your own device, does the work locally using your device’s processor, and hands the result back to you as a download. The file is not transmitted to our servers. It is not sent to a third-party conversion service. No copy of it is created anywhere outside your own machine.
Because there is no upload, there is also nothing for us to store, nothing to retain for a set period, and nothing for us to delete afterwards. We could not produce a copy of your document if we wanted to, because we never receive one. Closing or reloading the tab clears the file from the page.
The same applies to anything you type into our tools — text in the editor, dates in the age calculator, colour values in the picker. It stays in the page and is not sent to us.
Information we do collect
Information you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever is in your message. We use that solely to reply to you and to fix whatever you told us about. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not sell or share these details.
Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, our hosting service records standard technical information when a page is requested. This typically includes your IP address, your browser type and version, your operating system and device type, the pages you viewed, the date and time of the visit, and the page that referred you.
This information is generated by the act of loading a webpage rather than by anything you deliberately submit. We use it to keep the site running, to understand which tools are being used, to diagnose errors, and to detect abuse. It is not used to build a personal profile of you.
Analytics
We use a web analytics service to see aggregate patterns — which pages are popular, which devices people use, roughly where visitors come from. This tells us that a tool page was viewed a thousand times last week; it does not tell us who you are or what you did with a file.
Cookies
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Cookies on this site fall into three groups.
- Necessary cookies keep the site working — remembering your consent choice, for example, so you are not asked on every page.
- Analytics cookies help us count visits and understand which pages are useful, in aggregate.
- Advertising cookies are set by our advertising partners and are covered in the next section.
You can control cookies through your browser settings — most browsers let you block them, delete them, or be warned before one is set. Blocking cookies will not stop our tools from working, since the tools do not rely on them.
Advertising and third parties
FileCraftHub is free to use, and advertising is what pays for it. We work with Google, including through Google AdSense, to display advertisements on the site.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve advertisements based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet.
You have real control over this:
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
- You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at Google’s partner sites page.
Advertising partners set their own cookies and operate under their own privacy policies. We do not control what they collect, and we have no access to the cookies they place. If you are visiting from a region that requires consent for advertising cookies, you will be asked before non-essential cookies are set.
Advertisements are clearly separate from our content. We do not let advertisers influence what our tool guides say.
Your rights over your information
Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights over personal information relating to you. Whatever your location, we are happy to act on the requests below.
- Access. Ask what information about you we hold.
- Correction. Ask us to fix information that is wrong.
- Deletion. Ask us to delete information we hold about you, such as an email exchange.
- Objection. Object to a particular use of your information.
- Withdrawal of consent. Change your mind about cookies at any time.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, these rights are set out in the GDPR. If you are in California, the CCPA gives you rights including the right to know what is collected and the right to ask for deletion — and we note plainly that we do not sell personal information. In India, we aim to handle personal information consistently with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
To exercise any of these, email info@filecrafthub.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and will not charge you for it. Bear in mind that for most visitors the honest answer is that we hold nothing beyond ordinary server records, because you never sent us anything.
How long information is kept
Server logs are retained for a short period for security and troubleshooting, then discarded. Emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with your query and to keep a record of it, and are deleted on request. Files you process with our tools are not kept at all, because they are never received.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Beyond that, our strongest security measure is architectural rather than technical: because your documents are never uploaded, they are not exposed to a breach of our systems. The safest data is the data nobody collected.
No website can promise absolute security, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can say is that the sensitive material people bring to a file tool — identity documents, certificates, statements — does not pass through us at all.
Children’s privacy
FileCraftHub is intended for general use and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please email us and we will delete it.
Links to other websites
Our pages sometimes link to external sites, and advertisements link to advertisers. Once you follow a link you are on someone else’s website, governed by their privacy policy and not this one. We would encourage you to read it, particularly before uploading anything to a service that does require uploads.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if our practices change — if we add a feature that handles data differently, for instance, or change advertising partners. The date at the top always reflects the current version. Significant changes will be flagged on the page itself rather than slipped in quietly.
