FileCraftHub provides free tools and written guides for everyday document tasks. This page sets out the limits of what we offer, so you know what to rely on and what to check for yourself.

General

Everything on filecrafthub.com is provided for general information and general use. We put real effort into making our tools work correctly and our guides accurate, but we make no warranty that either is complete, current or suitable for your particular situation.

Any decision you take based on this site is your own. We are not liable for loss or damage arising from the use of our tools or from reliance on anything we have written.

The tools

Our tools run inside your own browser rather than on our servers. That is deliberate and it is what keeps your files private, but it has practical consequences worth stating plainly.

  • Results depend on your device. Browser, operating system and available memory all affect what happens. A file that processes instantly on a laptop may struggle on an older phone.
  • Not every file will work. Damaged, unusually structured, very large or password-protected files may fail or produce unexpected output.
  • Check the result before you rely on it. Open the finished file and look at it, particularly before submitting anything to an employer, an examination body or a court.
  • Keep your originals. We hold no copy of anything you process, so we cannot recover a file for you in any circumstance.
  • Compression and conversion involve trade-offs. Some processes discard detail permanently. Our tool guides explain where this applies.

Stamping and marking documents. Our stamping tool adds visible text to an image. It is a deterrent against casual misuse and a record of the purpose a copy was issued for. It is not a security feature, and a person with editing skills could remove it. Do not treat a stamp as protection against determined misuse of a document.

Eligibility, dates and official rules

Some of our tools and guides touch on recruitment, admission and eligibility — the age calculator in particular. These are calculation and information tools only.

Our age calculator returns an exact age between two dates. It does not determine whether you qualify for any post, examination, course or scheme. Age limits, cut-off dates, relaxations and eligibility conditions are set by the authority concerned, differ between departments and posts, and change from one recruitment cycle to the next.

Always confirm your position against the official notification or the issuing authority itself. Where anything we have written differs from an official document, the official document governs. We are not affiliated with any government body, recruitment agency, examination board or educational institution.

Not professional advice

Nothing on this site is legal, financial, medical or other professional advice. Our guides describe how file formats and tools behave; they do not tell you what to do about your documents, your application or your circumstances. If a decision matters, take advice from someone qualified to give it.

Your responsibility for what you process

You are responsible for having the right to use whatever you put into our tools, and for how you use the result. Because your files are never transmitted to us, we have no way of knowing what you are processing and no ability to review it.

Our tools must not be used to alter documents in order to mislead anyone, or to misrepresent an official record. Doing so may be a criminal offence, and responsibility rests entirely with the person doing it.

External links

We link to other websites where they are useful — official sources, browser documentation, opt-out pages. Those sites are not under our control. We are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or their availability, and a link is not an endorsement. Once you follow one, their terms and privacy policy apply rather than ours.

Advertising

This site carries advertising, which is how it remains free to use. Advertisements are served by third parties, including Google. We do not choose which specific advertisements appear, and their presence does not mean we endorse the advertiser, the product or the claims made.

Some outbound links may be affiliate links, meaning we could earn a small commission if you buy something after clicking. This never costs you more and never influences what our guides say. Where a recommendation appears, it is because we think it is right, not because of a commission.

Our Privacy Policy explains how advertising cookies work and how to opt out of personalised advertising.

Errors and corrections

We write these guides ourselves and we get things wrong occasionally. Formats change, browsers change, and rules change. If you find a mistake, an outdated statement or something misleading, email info@filecrafthub.com and we will correct it. We would much rather fix an error than defend one.

Changes to this disclaimer

This page is updated as the site changes. The date at the top reflects the current version.
