LipiFix is a Chrome extension that converts text written in old (non-Unicode) Indian fonts into Unicode text.
What data LipiFix collects
None. LipiFix does not collect, store, transmit, sell or share any personal information, browsing history or page content.
How text is processed
All conversion happens locally inside your own browser. When you click the LipiFix button, use the right-click menu or press the keyboard shortcut, LipiFix reads the text on that one page (or the text you selected or pasted) and converts it on your computer. The text is never sent to any server. LipiFix works offline.
What is stored
LipiFix saves only your last chosen language and font, using Chrome’s local extension storage on your computer, so the popup remembers your choice. This is never sent anywhere. Removing the extension deletes it.
Permissions
- activeTab and scripting – to convert text on the current page, only when you ask.
- contextMenus – to add the “LipiFix” right-click option.
- storage – to remember your last chosen language and font.
LipiFix does not ask for access to all websites and does not run in the background on pages you visit.
Third parties
LipiFix has no ads, analytics or tracking, and uses no third-party services.
